Surprise Gulf Storm “Bertha” Shakes Up Conditions — Clear Water Returning & Offshore Bite Rebounding

A surprise tropical system — Tropical Storm Bertha — spun up quickly in the central Gulf this week, pushing scattered storms, choppy seas, and pockets of dirty water toward the northern Gulf Coast. While Bertha didn’t make landfall, her outer bands affected conditions from Mexico Beach → PCB → Destin → Pensacola → Orange Beach.

The good news: Bertha moved out fast, and by Thursday, water clarity began improving, weedlines re‑forming, and offshore crews were already reporting strong snapper limits, heavy mingo action, and scattered mahi.

This week will start a little bumpy but ends with excellent fishing windows.
