The fishing scene along the coast from Destin/PCB to Gulf Shores has been outstanding this past week. With pleasant weather predicted for the upcoming days, anglers can expect an exciting experience. You can look forward to manageable waves of 0-2 feet for most of the week, with calm waters during the mornings. With water temperatures starting to cool down, fish are becoming more active, making this the perfect time to set out a flatline while bottom fishing. King Mackerel are particularly on the move right now.
Inshore Fishing Report
Inshore fishing has been exceptional lately! Spanish Mackerel, Redfish, Speckled Trout, and Mahi Mahi are making their presence felt, actively pursuing schools of baitfish. For example, anglers have reported catching over 30 Spanish Mackerel in just a few hours, as they feast on baitfish in the area. This is a prime opportunity to target these species, as they are feeding aggressively. If you’re planning a trip, be sure to pack your favorite lures and live bait to increase your chances of landing a big one.

Offshore Fishing Highlights
The offshore fishing action has been equally impressive. Reports indicate that Amberjack and Red Snapper are biting best during the early morning hours, providing anglers with thrilling catches. For instance, one group caught 12 Amberjack in just two hours! Additionally, you can expect to find Red Grouper, Scamp, Mahi Mahi, Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel, Black Drum, Vermillion Snapper, and Trigger Fish in good numbers right now.
If you’re eager for a challenge, this is the time to head out and pit your skills against these strong species. The fall season brings a variety of fish closer to shore, creating a buzz that both seasoned and novice anglers can enjoy.
